Circumambulation of Balichak Christopher Day School started on its orbit in the year 1978 after the destruction of its previous physical existence at Panskura by the devastating flood of 1978 in undivided Midnapore District.
The cordial and creative dream of Late Haripada Khatua for a model centre of children education with more importance on English came into existence and set the ball rolling with the immense co-operation of Late Rev. Father A. G. Pinto. The process of shaping the school was sympathized, backed and helped by Late Bishnupada Sasmal, Mr. Ashoke Kumar Sasmal, Late Dr. Debaprasad De, Mr. Prabir Kumar Manna, local well wishers and the members of the Managing committee and the teaching staff of Balichak Bhajahari Institution at the very crucial moment.
The school was initially started in the old hostel building of Balichak B.H. Institution on the 23rd January,1978. Two years later Mr.Ranjit Kumar Das (Asst.Teacher of Mundamari Ushananda Vidyapith), Prof. Ajit Kumar Ghosh (of Pingla Thana Mahavidyalaya) and Prof Dr. Mohammad Daud (of Sabong College) joined the school as guardians and shouldered the Himalayan task of preparing school curriculum, syllabus constitution and bye-laws, code of conduct, Logo etc. Thus the centre of children education had been shaped into a complete school.
The center of this children education for blooming buds has been steadily strolled for twenty five years in its journey amidst the ups and downs and observed the “Silver Jubilee celebration in the year 2003-04 on the 16th & 17th January, 2004 in a grand way. The authority of the school is enthused to proclaim its dedicated existence by the celebration of the opening ceremony for the completion of 40 (forty) years journey on the 17th January 2018 with pomp and grandeur in presence of the Minister in-charge of water Resource Development, Govt. of West Bengal Dr. Soumen Mahapatra, Mrs. Selima Khatun (Bibi) M.L.A, Debra and a galaxy of educationists under the secretarial leadership of Mr. Sanjib Banerjee. Now this excellent center for child education has been steadily strolling to the Golden Jubilee celebration in the year 2028.
Balichak Christopher Day School was established in the year 1978 at the very crucial time when the then Government of West Bengal abolished English from the Primary level. This tiny centre for child Education has steadily completed the itinerary path of its 40 (forty) years journey amidst the several ups and downs and looking forward to observe the Golden Jubilee Celebration in the year 2028. A primary golden Jubilee celebration committee is formed and Mr. Sanjib Banerjee, the present secretary is selected as the convener of the said committee. Truly to speak Balichak Christopher Day School is an unparallel child Educational Institute at Balichak in the district of Paschim Medinipur, West Bangal. I am glad to mention that we have purchased a piece of land for this institution.
I am really vary grateful to the founder Late Haripada Khatua Who had given me the opportunity of shouldering all the responsibilities of this tiny institution as a Patron cum President. I convey my hearty thanks to all the Ex-Secretaries & Members of M.C. for supporting me to run the school smoothly, specially the M.C. of B.H. Institution and the H.M. with his staff for sharing their rooms with this institution.
I would like to thanks Mr. Anup Kumar Saha (The Then Secretary) who saved the school from the edge of a ditch by his dedication. Mr. Anup Saha is now the Working President of this institution.
After being appointed as the Secretary of Balichak Christopher Day School. I personally feel proud because I was one of the little learners of the First Batch of this tiny Alma-Mater. At first I convey my gratitude to the B.H.I authority for sharing their class rooms with this tiny institution.
A school is generally judged by its faculty not by its Palatial building. So we have given much importance to make our faculty strong with highly educated, convent based, Montessori trained and Non-Bengali teachers to fulfill our Promise of Providing best Education through classroom teaching, computer teaching, Visualizing method, Practical Teaching, Cultural education, Project work, Art & Craft Teaching, Sports Yoga-Pranayama Teaching etc. to the little learners.
A long journey of 40 years is not a matter of joke for a Primary School like this. So we have launched the Website of the school to commemorate the occasion of celebrating 40 years of Academic Excellency and also to keep a firm stride of celebrating the forthcoming 'GOLDEN JUBILEE' celebration in 2028 with all Ex-students of this school.
"Try to provide the children the best tutelage for excelling their spirit of education" These are the words often said by Late Haripada Khatua, the chief architect who established this school with the active support of Late Rev. Father A.G. Pinto and Late Bishnapada Sasmal along with his nephew Mr. Ashoke Kumar Sasmal (Patron & President). So I bow down my head before their noble attitude. I would also convey my hearty thanks to B.H.I authority for allowing us to run the school in their classrooms.
Alongside Bengali, good English is its forte. This being a school with Anglo Bengali medium that consistently stands out is growing from strength to strength in academic, co-curricular and cultural activities, distinguished and committed teaching personnel (with convent based and Montessori trained) provide them ideas and the little learners have tried their level best to show their excellency. The results of the different competitive examinations prove this.
A glamorous opening ceremony of 40 years of Academic Excellency was observed in January 2018 and the website of the school was launched to communicate with all the Ex-Students as well as the well wishers of the school. The school has been strolling steadily towards the Golden Jubilee.
I would like to mention that Balichak Christopher Day school provides an ample scope for the worried parents to drive away the anxiety of child education. By observing the glorious settlement of our ex-students as Professors, Teachers, Engineers, Doctors, Officers and Business Magnet and others please come forward and extend your hands of co-operation for fluttering the flag of Balichak Christopher day school on a high mast to feel that 'You are the school and the school is yours'.
A vast green grassy field is there where The students usually practice Yoga, Pranayam, Mass P.T., Rhythmic Exercises & Games.
Drinking water is supplied through NOVA UV water purifier & tap water.
Boys & Girls use separate urinals and lavatories attaches to the school.
Attending doctor of the school is always available from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. daily. Periodical health check-up is done in June & December.
Special tutorial classes are arranged for lagging behind and topper students after the school hours (once in a week).
There are subject wise highly qualified, experienced, Anglo Bengali and Montessori trained teachers provide teaching in school.
